In today’s post, I am inviting you to reflect on self-leadership. What does it mean to you?
Although we often talk about leadership in our workplaces, we often neglect to recognize that we all are everyday leaders.
Also, I believe that every leadership starts with self-leadership.
Although we talk about leadership in our workplaces, we often neglect to recognize that we all are leaders; leaders of our lives, of our health, and of our dreams.
In many instances, we talk about influencing others, managing others’, but we talk less frequently about how we influence ourselves.
Here are a few thoughts I am inviting you to reflect on.
- Self-leadership starts with self-awareness of our thoughts, emotions, physiology, behavioural patterns, and triggers.
- Self-leadership is about recognizing and respecting our own boundaries.
- Self-leadership is about taking responsibility for our emotions and not getting trapped in other people’s emotional energy.
- Self-leadership is a journey, not a destination.
Do you believe you are a self-leader?
